Future Leadership: Embracing the Leader Mindset for effective public sector teams
We know leaders accomplish great things when they focus on how their own contribution connects to a greater purpose. We know exceptional outcomes are achieved when leaders actively focus on their team and know what inspires and motivates the people who work with them. These leaders have the energy to inspire people to believe, connect and collaborate, and focus on how they can be better.
They understand the connection between their leadership, employee engagement and capability. They have a growth mindset and think about thinking.
The concept of employee experience is complex and delicate, and is one of the most important areas a leader needs to understand to create a team and culture that can cope with, and meet future demand. Change is the norm, driven by stakeholder expectations, social impact and technology, and the skill profile has started to shift, predicting a high demand for the softer skills as repetitive tasks are replaced with AI.
Leaders are learners, and have to be prepared to challenge their style, and understand the interrelationship between leadership, engagement and capability.
